20 Atlantis: The Lost Empire, 2001

Premiering on June 15, 2001,Atlantis: The Lost Empiremarks Disney's first foray into science-fiction. The film follows a group of explorers as they uncover the long-forgotten secrets of the legendary lost city of Atlantis.

19 Lilo & Stitch, 2002

June 21, 2002, saw the release of Disney's second science-fiction film,Lilo & Stitch. The heartwarming comedy follows a broken family who unwittingly takes in an alien fugitive, ultimately learning the true meaning of the word "ohana."

18 Treasure Planet, 2002

Based on the classic Robert Louis Stevenson novel Treasure Island,Treasure Planetdebuted on November 27, 2002. Set in outer space, the story follows teenaged troublemaker, Jim Hawkins, as he navigates interstellar pirates in search of treasure.

17 Brother Bear, 2003

On November 1, 2003,Brother Bear debuted. Set in the Alaskan wilderness, the dramedy follows Kenai, a boy turned into a bear for his misdeeds. He meets an orphaned cub named Koda who teaches him the meaning of brotherhood.

16 Home on the Range, 2004

Releasing on April 2, 2004,Home on the Range is a musical comedy set in the Old West, following a ragtag group of farm animals as they venture to save their farm. After this, Disney would take a break from traditional animation as it tried out computer animation for its next few features.

15 Chicken Little, 2005

On November 4, 2005, Disney released its first Disney Digital 3D film,Chicken Little.

Based on the Anglo-Saxon fairy tale,Henny Penny, the film follows the titular Chicken Little as he tries to save his town once the sky starts falling.

14 Meet the Robinsons, 2007

March 30, 2007, saw the premiere ofMeet the Robinsons, a sci-fi adventure based on the novel,A Day with Wilbur Robinson by William Joyce. It follows orphaned inventor Lewis and his adventures through time after meeting a boy claiming to be from the future.

13 Bolt, 2008

Debuting on November 21, 2008, comedy-adventure Boltfollows a dog in search of his owner, Penny. After growing up as a movie star, Bolt mistakenly believes he has superpowers. During his search for Penny, he realizes that his real power was inside him all along.

12 The Princess and the Frog, 2009

December 11, 2009, saw the premiere of Disney's penultimate traditionally animated release,The Princess and the Frog. Inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, The Frog Princess, it follows a hardworking girl and an indulgent prince who are both turned into frogs and go on an adventure in 1920s New Orleans.

11 Tangled, 2010

On November 24, 2010, Disney Animated Studios releasedTangled.Based on the Rapunzel fairy tale, the story follows a sheltered princess and a dashing thief as they uncover the secrets of her past and find their rightful places in the world.

10 Winnie the Pooh, 2011

July 15, 2011 saw Disney Animated Studios' revival of the belovedWinnie the Poohfranchise, as well as its last traditionally animated feature film to date.

It follows the classic Hundred Acre Wood gang as they venture out to save Christopher Robin.

9 Wreck-It Ralph, 2012

Wreck-It Ralph premiered on November 2, 2012. The self-aware adventure comedy follows a video game villain who rebels against his programming to become the hero he's always wanted to be while befriending a "glitch" from another game.

8 Frozen, 2013

Disney Animated Studios' smash hitFrozendebuted on November 27, 2013, following two princesses who find self-discovery while saving their kingdom from an eternal winter. Theme song "Let It Go" became Disney's first #1 single in 18 years.

7 Big Hero 6, 2014

Disney's Big Hero 6, released on November 7, 2014, is their first animated movie to feature Marvel characters. It follows a young inventor named Hiro and the bonds he makes after his older brother's death, resulting in a city-saving superhero team.

6 Zootopia, 2016

March 4, 2016, saw the premiere of Walt Disney's buddy-cop comedy,Zootopia, which follows the unlikely pairing of a bunny rabbit cop and a con-artist fox. Together, they defy social stigmas and societal expectations in order to save their city.

5 Moana, 2016

Walt Disney's critically acclaimed film,Moana,debuted on November 23, 2016. The story follows a strong-willed girl as she sets off to break an ancient curse and save her people.

Inspired by Polynesian mythology, the film features Polynesian deities like Maui and Te Fiti, and explores the ancient Wayfinder voyagers.

4 Ralph Breaks the Internet, 2018

SequelRalph Breaks the Internet premiered on November 21, 2018. It revisits the digital world as Ralph and Vanellope enter the web to save her game, and later, the entire internet. It is also Disney Animated Studio's first computer-animated sequel.

3 Frozen II, 2019

Premiering on November 22, 2019, the critically acclaimed sequel to the 2013 smash hit,Frozen II follows Anna and Elsa as they uncover Arendelle's history and heal old wounds from the past. It went on to become the highest-grossing animated film of all time.

2 Raya and the Last Dragon, 2021

Disney's most recent offering,Raya and the Last Dragon premiered on March 5, 2021 in theaters and on Disney+. Inspired by Southeast Asian mythology, the story follows warrior, Raya, on her quest to find the last dragon and save her kingdom from an ancient evil. This film is lauded for its primarily Asian cast.

1 Encanto, 2021

Planned for a November 24, 2021 release,Encantowill follow Mirabel, an ordinary girl in a family of extraordinary people. Set in a magical Colombian locale called an Encanto, Mirabel will journey out to save her family and their home.
